The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Gardens
Time & Location
About the Event
We are planning a cracking good schedule this year and are kicking-off with a talk from one of our great favorites; our very own Glyn Jones.
Glyn was previously Head Gardener of Hidcote Gardens and then of another challenging National Trust garden called the Dyffrin on an estate dating back to the 7th Century. He is now the Head Gardener of the Shakespeare Gardens and will be talking to us about the exciting challenges and events that he has faced since taking over the role a couple of years ago. Not least has been the intense media coverage when New Place gardens were first opened. He is brim full of ideas for the future and it will be good to hear about them!
Glynn lives in the village and is donating his speaking fee to the village Young Gardeners group……Future proofing our membership (we hope) and supporting a very precious gathering of youngsters.
The club has a friendly and informal atmosphere and new members are warmly welcomed.
We meet in the King George’s Hall on Chapel Lane at 7.0pm for tea/coffee and a time to look at plant stalls, visit and outing information etc and to socialise. The talk will start at 7.30 and will last about an hour. Then we have a short time for notices to be given out.
This will be the meeting for joining-up (£10.00) for the year. Membership cards are going to be precious for members as there are quite a few new places where we can obtain concessions!
Guests can pop along for £2.00 ……and then may just decide to join us? We look forward to seeing you.
