About the Event
Have you ever visited a garden and wondered how you can take some beautiful images to remember your trip with? Or perhaps you’ve grown a prize winning bloom and want to remember it long after it’s faded.This course is designed to help you understand the basics of photography and get the most out of whatever tools you have available to you to take photos with.
10:00 - 10:15 - Arrive, coffee & introductions
10:15 - 10:45 - Photography Basics - Storytelling with composition and light
10:45 - 11:00 - Photography Basics - Using your camera (DSLR, compact or phone)
11:00 - 12:00 - Guided experimentation in the garden
12:00 - 12:45 - Basic processing of your photos
12:45 - 13:30 - Lunch and wrap up
Places will be limited to 10 people so there will be plenty of time for individual help and support. Cost £20 per person including lunch. Book your place by e-mailing email@example.com and letting us know what kind of camera you’ll be bringing so we can make sure we can help you use it on the day. It would also help to know your confidence level in using IT and any image processing software you already use.
Smartphone users please download and install the free Snapseed app onto your phone before the day. If you’re using a camera and have a laptop please bring it and a card reader along with you. We’ll be using Pixlr a free browser based editing software which you can access at https://pixlr.com/editor/ if you want to have a play before the day. The principles can be applied to any other photo editing packages you may find"
